Hi, I’m Dave. I started flying airplanes back in college, many more years ago than I care to admit. With a degree in aerospace engineering and my private pilot license, I was commissioned in the Air Force and successfully completed pilot training. I flew C-130 E, H, and H2 models for 13 years both on active duty and in the Air National Guard.
I left active duty to fly for a commercial airline and am now in my 30th year with a large airline. Surviving furloughs, mergers, bankruptcies, and more mergers, I’ve worked my way up the seniority list to where I’m currently a captain on the Boeing 757 and 767, mainly flying trips to the 4 islands in Hawaii.
I started this site as an attempt to document some of my travels and explain things associated with the flying profession and airline travel.
